Trust & Estates and Corporate Law Paralegal Duties: Responsible for supporting the attorneys in our esteemed Trust & Estates practice, which will include preparing drafts of trusts, wills, and related estate planning documents. Prepare assignments and update corporate documents to reflect change in ownership. Handle client signing meetings and retitling of assets to fund trusts, including updating beneficiary designation forms, preparing deeds, and completing change in ow nership forms. Daily administration and servicing of clients, conducting legal and compliance research and document execution. Responsible for basic legal research using traditional legal research technology. Provide daily support for key clients as requests are made and serve as a point-of-contact for clients when primary attorney is unavailable. Provide client service support by answering incoming calls and following up on requests. Assist in drafting court pleadings. Assist in the formation, maintenance, and dissolution of corporate entities and prepare related organizational documents. Coordinate closings and prepare related documents. Prepare legal opinions and assemble opinion back-up. Draft and file corporate and securities filings. Organize corporate records and conduct due diligence reviews. Prepare stock certificates and maintain capitalization tables and option records. Other tasks as assigned or required. Qualifications: Paralegal certificate preferred. 5+ years experience in a trust department, estate planning firm or relevant law firm practice group doing equivalent work. Additional experience supporting taxation, business and corporate law is a definite plus. Must be detail oriented, highly organized and must possess flexible skills to deal with the various nuances of trust accounts and trust compliance, including the ability to anticipate issues. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, handling process or implementation complications as they arise with minimal direction or supervision. Must be able to read and interpret trust agreements and state statutes/regulations independently and with minimal clarification, and then implement work processes to strictly abide by them. Must have strong oral and written communications skills with demonstrated confidence and comfortability interacting with individuals at all levels, including clients and their investment advisors, tax preparers and consultants, as well as personnel within the court systems. Willingness to grow and take on additional responsibilities as warranted and learn all aspects of trust administration. Strong computer skills, including experience with Windows 10, Office 2016 and Adobe DC Pro preferred.
