Legal Secretary - Tax And Estates The candidate will provide administrative, secretarial, and clerical support to attorneys in Tax Practice Group. Assist attorneys with practice and administration management and organization. Maintain attorney calendars and coordinate and assist with organizing attorney meetings, events, and activities. Communicate with clients and others inside and outside of the firm in connection with attorneys work and civic or business development matters. Assist with calculation and management of transaction deadlines. Run conflict checks, prepare opening file materials, draft engagement letters and draft waiver letters. Assist with assembly of exhibits and disclosure schedules to transaction documents. Assist with assembly and organization of due diligence documentation. Retrieval and filing of entity records with secretaries of state. Assist with preparation of applications for federal tax identification numbers. Assist in the preparation of US Estate Tax Returns and Estate documents (Wills, Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Powers of Attorney, Living Will Declarations, Beneficiary Designations and Limited Medical Powers of Attorney). Assist with billing matters and attorney time entry. Prepare attorney expense reports, entertainment reports and trip reports; and facilitate payment of out-of-pocket expenses for client matters. Assist in maintaining attorney CLE requirement, CLE filings. Assist with preparation and filing of state and local litigation and succession pleadings, including electronic and fax filings. Support attorneys in the growth and development of their respective practices. Maintain strict firm and client confidentiality. Must have High School Diploma; Bachelors degree preferred. Should have 3-5 years of prior legal secretary or assistant experience, preferably in the areas of Litigation and/or Tax and Estates. Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Power Point. Should have advanced proficiency in formatting, proofreading and editing correspondence and legal documents.
