Associate Attorney The candidate will be responsible for: supporting the practice by performing general research and writing; contributing to a broad range of intellectual property matters related to patents, trademarks and trade secrets; handling and prosecuting patent and trademark applications both domestic and foreign, particularly in the fields of chemistry, chemical engineering, bio engineering and/or petroleum engineering, and related technologies; evaluating freedom to operate and preparing invalidity assessments; drafting technology license agreements. Should have strong analytical and writing skills having the ability to communicate concisely and effectively through written work product. 2-3 years of patent prosecution experience is required. Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, bio engineering, petroleum engineering or similar technologies is required. Should preferably be licensed to practice law in Texas and be in good standing, or qualified for reciprocity in the State of Texas and/or sit for the Texas Bar. All candidates should be admitted or eligible to practice before the USPTO.
