Associate Attorney (Workers' Compensation) The candidate will read, review, analyze and report on discovery to clients. Conduct legal analyses of issues in claims, requiring knowledge and understanding of applicable case law and statutes. Engage in direct communications via telephone and e-mail with attorneys and clients. Engage in litigation-related events including but not limited to depositions, conferences, and hearings. Properly track and record time billed on claim-related tasks, reaching monthly goals following the initial training period. Handle a WC case from start to finish with limited supervision. The candidate should have a J.D. degree. Should have Florida Bar Admission/Member in Good Standing. Should have 2+ years of experience. Transferable clients/cases are a plus. Must be able to write in a clear, logical, and grammatically correct manner, integrating legal analyses into work. Must be able to write in the formats pertinent to this position which is primarily client reports. Should have the ability to analyze facts and discovery to apply to statutes and case law on point, ability to verbally present case facts, legal analyses and recommendations and defend positions through same, ability to work independently with exception of on new topics or issues on which it is expected help to be sought so as to not sacrifice significant time on project, ability and willingness to market current and potential clients, working to help continue to build the WC division and increase the scope of our work across the state.
