Foreclosure Paralegal The candidate will anticipate and prepare assigned lawyers for the day-to-day activities. Will ensure all hours (billable and non-billable) are accurately recorded. Communicate in professional and respectful manner with clients, employees, attorneys, vendors, opposing parties and third-party providers. Understand entire foreclosure process, referral to post-sale, and communicate well with parties involved (title, sheriffs, banks, etc.). Maintain and hold in high regard all confidential information obtained through employment. Type at least 50+ wpm, 10-key. Proven competencies in general computer programs such as Word, Outlook, Excel. Proven competencies in VF legal software programs after training and six months of service. Provide 40 hours per week of service, during an agreed-upon schedule of hours, evidenced by daily time punches (in/out). Report any and all anomalies, errors, or unexpected findings. Assist attorney with day-to-day functions, including daily calendar review. Coordinate appointments, including all correspondence and logistics. Understand the basics of court documents (summons, subpoenas, complaints, etc.). Make travel arrangements. Manage client emails and phone calls, set up conference calls. Process all incoming and outgoing mail. Prepare pleadings, correspondence, court application documents, complaints, motions and orders for default, decree of foreclosure, notice of sale and similar documents for attorney review and signature; revise, edit and finalize same in accordance with pertinent jurisdictional rules and regulations. Draft post-judgment pleadings, briefs and motions, writs and subpoenas. Facilitate closings, mediations, settlements and other tasks related to foreclosure litigation. Correspond with counsel, court and clients. Proofread all pleadings, correspondence and memoranda for accuracy. Arrange for process of service, as necessary. Assist in hearing and trial preparation, as needed. Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow. College level writing, English or other communication coursework is preferred. Should have 3+ years of experience for foreclosure litigation in residential or HOA matters. Broad knowledge and skills such as attention to detail, keen observation, time management, organization and communication.
