Independent Contract Attorney, Part-time The candidate will join commercial-litigation and civil-rights firm. Participate in development of international human rights cases and cross-border civil rights cases. Litigate complex cases, including motions practice, hearings, and depositions through trial. Should have J.D. with minimum two years litigation experience (class action experience strongly preferred). Highly accomplished academic and employment credentials. Preference given to candidates with Spanish language fluency and relevant experience. Effective organizational skills, a high level of initiative, and self-starter attitude. Superior writing, drafting and oral advocacy skills. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to review, summarize, and highlight evidence gathered from documents. Research legal facts and regulations for new cases. Ability to conduct all phases of civil discovery, including drafting written discovery, conducting meet and confers, and preparing for and conducting depositions. Superior ability to draft briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents.
