Litigation Paralegal The candidate will prepare initial representation letters to client's insured, enclosing client information sheet. Prepare and Circulate scheduling orders for approval (associates might draft). Review files for Discovery status and status of other insurance. Calculate Level 1, 2 and 3 deadlines for attorney's approval. Prepare case notes and to do lists after initial file review. Prepare Affidavits of Other Insurance. Draft, prepare and send Discovery to all parties per the attorney's direction. In some cases, the attorney might handle the Discovery and give to her/his secretary to send. Prepare letter to client's insured enclosing Discovery Requests and following up on same via phone. Obtain medical and billing records, employment records, school records, earnings statements, background checks, driving, records, social media, etc. Draft Pleadings. Prepare medical chronologies of Plaintiff's medical history. Prepare Summaries of Subpoenaed Records. Prepare Deposition Summaries and Notebooks. Prepare Hearing Notebooks. Prepare Expert Notebooks. Prepare Mediation Notebooks; start preparing for trial if the case is not mediated; assist attorneys at trial, if needed. Correspond with experts and maintain documents to/from experts - check respective client's Billing Guidelines. Bate stamp documents (this can be a billable task). Prepare check requests for documents ordered from courts. Upon receipt of Deposition from client, send to the appropriate person for review, signature, and then follow-up. Process all Depositions by Written Questions (DWQ). Prepare shells for Discovery Responses and E-serve discovery responses/requests. Should have 3 years of Litigation experience.
