Receptionist/Entry Level Paralegal Duties: Answer incoming calls and screen potential clients. Properly record and file client documentation. Ensure documents, emails, or calls are forwarded to the appropriate paralegal. Process and deposit outgoing mail daily. Create and manage electronic case files. Schedule and manage appointments on the appropriate office calendar(s). Appropriately present and represent the firm to current and potential clients. Openly and courteously communicate with all staff. Qualifications: AA or AS degree with a paralegal certificate or degree, with 3 years of experience in a law office or similar setting as a receptionist or legal secretary OR BA or BS degree with 1 year of experience in a law office or similar setting as a receptionist or legal secretary. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office/365. Familiar with multi-line telephones and have appropriate phone etiquette. Must be punctual and professional. Should be organized and able to multi-task. Must have patience and respect for all clients and staff. Ability to type 55 words per minute. Preferred Qualifications: Paralegal certificate or degree. Notary certification. Previous experience with probate, social security disability, trust administration, trust preparation, or deed preparation. Familiar with estate planning legal terms. Familiar with several types of financial documents, including annuities, IRAs, 401(k)s, life insurance policies, etc.
