Law & Motion Attorney The candidate to join Personal Injury Litigation law firm. Will advocate for law firm clients in predominantly state court civil litigation legal proceedings, including the drafting and propounding of written and deposition discovery notices to obtain evidence to oppose some of the motions filed against law firm clients. Also attend daily court hearings in Superior Court for case management, case status, and case event updates with some case file follow-up. Represent consumer clients in court. Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients. Orally argue legal pleading positions in court. Attend and participate in basic court hearings on a daily basis. Guide, train and instruct support staff as necessary on legal writing. Draft and review notices of ruling after court hearings. The candidate should have legal research and writing experience. Experience in personal injury, tort, and contract law is a plus. Spanish speaking is also a plus. Must have previous experience in civil litigation (2 to 5 years of experience in civil litigation). Familiarity with various legal documents and pleadings beyond "fill-in" fields - legal forms is required. Should have ability to draft long-form pleadings and articulate, strong, logical, coherent, and well reasoned legal arguments. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Competent and Thorough Legal Research Abilities on Westlaw is required. Should have strong knowledge of California Civil Procedure and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Must have strong knowledge of the California Evidence Code. Should have strong knowledge of California's Ex Parte Application Procedure and Standards. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required. should have ability to write clearly and present legal argument and facts in a coherent manner.
