Bilingual (Spanish) Immigration Paralegal Duties: Manage a large caseload consisting of both removal (deportation) defense and affirmative, family-based immigration applications. Will be responsible for communicating with clients and working closely with them on preparing their cases, including gathering documents and drafting declarations. Will also correspond with government agencies, immigration court, medical providers, schools, social workers, and mental health professionals to obtain necessary evidence and advocate for clients. Will also provide regular updates to clients with active cases and provide regular updates to clients with long term cases, on a quarterly basis. Will Track the status of client filings. Will prepare and compose motions and routine correspondence and act as a liaison to court personnel. Will primarily work under the supervision of an attorney. Will answer phones, schedule appointments, maintain calendar, and speak with the Court or USCIS. Will do intakes with clients, and meet with the clients. Make photocopies, send faxes, Scans, retrieve and/or return files, other duties as assigned and any other related tasks as requested by the supervisor Attorney. We will give preference to applicants who have prior experience working in an immigration law firm. Requirements: Associate, Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certification. Must be fluent in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both. 1+ year of Paralegal experience (preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Will be a fast learner and hard worker. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision. Work well under deadlines, handle confidential information with professionalism, and display strong interpersonal skills. Need to consistently update database(s) and utilize case management tools effectively and efficiently to monitor cases and track deadlines and expiration dates. Excellent client customer service and interpersonal skills-Reliability, teamwork and professionalism towards clients and co-workers. Communicate with clients via email and phone, providing information and assistance to clients regarding legal procedures.
