Plaintiff s Labor and Employment Paralegal The candidate will have extensive client contact, will provide support to a team of eight or more attorneys, and will be responsible for managing client intake. Will collaborate with a team of 8 attorneys, plus law clerks, in a fast-paced litigation firm. Review investigative reports, testimonies, interviews, files, and documents for employment matters such as discrimination, whistleblowing reprisal, wrongful termination. Analyze legal issues and conduct legal research under employment law statutes including, the Civil Rights Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Hatch Act, the Whistleblower Protection Act, the Federal Service Labor-Management Relations Statute, Older Workers Benefits Protection Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Notification and Federal Employee Antidiscrimination and Retaliation Act, and the Freedom of Information Act. Participate and assist in preparation for trial by compiling, organizing, and indexing various evidentiary exhibits. Assist in the preparation of witnesses for trial. Assist clients with assembling evidence and affidavits in support of their claims. Prepare a variety of legal documents to include discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, requests for rehearing, memoranda, letters, and other documents necessary for litigation. Assist with coordinating and scheduling depositions. Prepare fee summaries. Communicate with potential clients, judges, clients, and opposing counsel. Participate in all phases of discovery, case development, and preparation hearings, trials, and appeals; providing analysis of data, develops recommendations for the attorneys. Provide litigation support to attorneys during trials by handling exhibits, taking notes, reviewing trial transcripts, scheduling interviews, meetings, depositions, and other proceedings. Electronically file federal administrative cases with an appropriate certificate of service. Manage the firm s social media. The candidate should have 2+ years of substantive litigation experience. Experience in employment litigation essential. Must preferably have knowledge of MS Office 365 environment. Should have knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro, sound working knowledge of legal research procedures and legal research resources, and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
