Legal Secretary The candidate will support two or more workers' compensation defense attorneys. Schedule/coordinate depositions, medical examinations, and other court-designated hearings, retain court reporters and interpreters, if necessary. Administrative tasks associated with legal duties. Should preferably be a College degree with 5+ years of Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant experience. Transcription experience is needed. EAMS filing experience is preferred. Familiarity with case management systems - MerusCase is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook is a prerequisite. Excellent editing/proofreading skills are desired. Must have strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail. Strong time-management skills are a must. Effective oral and written communication skills with excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation usage are necessary. Should have the ability to handle cases from inception to completion, EAMS filings, calendaring, transcription, preparing attorneys for appearances, conferences, and trials. Must have the ability to interact with a variety of personalities; work as part of a team; coordinate multiple tasks concurrently; effectively communicate and interact with clients, attorneys, and staff; work efficiently and proactively within a team environment, and operate business machines such as photocopy and scanning equipment.
