Trusts & Estates Attorney The candidate must have Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school; LLM in Taxation a plus, but not essential. Licensed to practice law in New York. (NJ, CT and FL admissions a plus, but not essential) 5+ years minimum experience with sophisticated estate planning and estate administration for high net-worth individuals. Experience with IRS and NYS estate tax return preparation and audits. Experience advising clients with respect to estate planning, trust administration, estate administration, and tax audits. Experience with the formation and operation of private and public not for profit organizations. A go-getter attitude; someone who actively networks within and without the firm. Ability to review work product of other attorneys and paralegals. Proficiency in legal research with Westlaw/Lexis, Checkpoint, and Bloomberg BNA. Demonstrated ability to be flexible and prioritize work tasks in an effective manner. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
