This firm is prominent on the local Philadelphia scene, with several offices around the East Coast. Local lobbying is the forte here. In their small Washington DC office, regulatory is the main thrust, although the major focus is support for the DC office. This firm has an interesting focus on industry group, instead of practice area. This approach to lawyering is highly progressive--since it allows attorneys to become intimately involved with their clients and their needs. While this firm is not a national player, it has a strong local presence with a collegial atmosphere.
Philadelphia office seeks Research Librarian preferably with 2+ years law library experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and conducting specialized research and analysis requested by timekeepers on companies, industries, markets and competitors, using a comprehensive variety of print and online resources in the areas of legal industry and other subjects for marketing and business development. Report to the Director of Library Services. Responsibilities include: Providing comprehensive business and legal research assistance; the focus on being an expert in research and online systems for specific practice groups. Monitoring blogs and other resources for breaking resources and forwarding them appropriately. Assisting in the development of the library intranet and other educational resources. Assisting in education and training of new attorneys and support staff. Managing/monitoring Interlibrary Loans. Working on projects as assigned. ALA accredited Master's degree in Library & Information Science required. Should have knowledge of commercial online resources; knowledge of legal bibliography and ability to use print and on-line resources, including Westlaw, LexisNexis, CourtLink, Dun & Bradstreet and other types of web-based services; basic familiarity with Intranet design and development and excellent communications skills, professionalism and the ability to be flexible in prioritizing multiple tasks.
