Paralegal - Bilingual - Immigration, Family, Criminal Law Duties : The candidate shall conduct client interviews to preare affidavits. Gather and review evidence such as documents and information from clients, police departments, and courts. Prepare legal forms and applications for filing with: United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR), and Minnesota District Courts. Investigate and develop case strategy, Draft motions, memoranda, notices, demands, jury instructions, questions for prospective witnesses, and other miscellaneous legal documents. Assist in arrangements for bond/bail procedures. Prepare cases for interviews, hearings, and trial. Maintain organized case files. Record all work performed on a case/with a client in case management software. Review cases assigned regularly with staff attorneys. Translation and Interpretation. Other duties as assigned. Assist with phone calls and accept client payments and filing fees as needed. Inform clients of fees owed for legal services. Assist Administrative staff with special projects as assigned by the Owner/Managing Attorney.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications : The candidate shall have a Bachelor's Degree and must be bilingual in Spanish/English. Shall have strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to perform job duties independently, set priorities and meet deadlines, work carefully under time constraints, the ability to understand, implement, and adhere to the Rules of Professional Responsibility that govern attorneys.
