Personal Injury Associate Attorney The candidate will be responsible for organizing and overseeing the progression of all litigated cases in the firm while working in conjunction with the partner, an associate, and trial counsel. Candidate will work within the various aspects of litigation, including propounding and responding to discovery. Duties will also include attending trials, depositions, and other court appearances, preparing pleadings, setting up motions, and helping to draft, type, format and proof-read legal documents and correspondence, including meet and confer letters. Preparation of documents for filing, including verification of signatures, proof of service, mailing etc. Write mediation briefs, trial briefs, and MSC briefs from scratch.Qualified candidates must have a thorough understanding of the processes of state and federal litigation. The candidate should have 3+ years of personal injury law and courtroom experience. Must be licensed to practice law in the state of California, possess a valid driver's license, have their own transportation, and be willing to do some light travel throughout the states to attend court hearings. Must be experienced in, and knowledgeable of, e-filing, trial procedures, discovery, document production, document management, calendaring and case management. Experience with Needles case management program is preferred. Excellent organizational skills and time management a must. Spanish speaker is preferred. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, can handle a heavy case load, are team players with a service attitude, and have a superior ability to maintain effective relationships with other attorneys, staff and the general public.
