Email Your Resume or Apply With LinkedIn Real Estate and General Corporate Paralegal The Chicago office is seeking a full-time Real Estate and General Corporate Paralegal experienced in supporting commercial real estate, financing, and corporate transactions. The candidate must be highly organized, detail orientated, and able to successfully manage multiple priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required. Roetzel & Andress is a full-service law Firm with offices located throughout Ohio, Florida, and Chicago. The Firm provides comprehensive legal services to national and international corporations, closely held and family-run businesses, institutions, organizations, and individuals. Real Estate responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Preparation of basic real estate documents for purchase, sale, and lending transactions for review and revision by supervising attorney. Coordinate recordation of deeds, deeds of trust/mortgages, amendments, lot line adjustments, easements, covenants, and other related documents. Reviewing title commitments and surveys to prepare title exception letters. Reviewing and preparation of transactional documents. Preparing and monitoring closing checklists. Reviewing and preparation of due diligence items. Search prepare and file UCC financing statements. Conduct basic legal and business research. Ability to perform all the necessary follow-up for all post-closing matters, including review of issued title policy, finalizing of closing binders, and managing of transmission of all original documents. Ability to track and meet deadlines. General Corporate responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Formation and/or qualification, regulation, and maintenance of business, medical, professional, and not-for-profit corporations, limited liability companies, and other entities in Illinois and other states. Coordinates dissolutions/liquidations, reorganizations, mergers/ acquisitions, reinstatements, name changes/adoption of assumed names, and conversion of entities. Creation and maintenance of Minute/Record Books. Measures of Performance Quality of generated documents (grammar, spelling, errors, etc.). Promptness in completing tasks. Maintain the highest degree of professionalism and customer service approach in dealing with clients, visitors, callers, and Firm individuals, regardless of circumstances/situation. Teamwork exhibited within all levels in the office. Successfully manage and prioritize multiple tasks, visitors, and calls simultaneously. Organization and accuracy of client files. Recommended Position Requirements Associate degree in paralegal studies preferred or paralegal certificate preferred. Must have 2-5 years of real estate and general corporate transactional experience. Strong technical skills, keen attention to detail, and demonstrated initiative. Professional oral and written communication skills. Flexibility with work schedule is needed to accommodate overtime when necessary. Effectively uses practice-specific programs.
