Mass Tort Paralegal The candidate will be helping sexual assault victims and clients unfairly injured by defective products. The position will assist in all aspects of case management from intake through litigation and/or settlement to the conclusion of the case. Integrating all client information into a client management system. Contacting clients to ensure all necessary information has been received. Determining which medical facilities should be contacted and ordering appropriate records. Reviewing medical records and creating medical record summaries as needed. Developing timeline of injury and determine proof of injury or proof of use. Working with clients to complete Plaintiff Fact Sheets and/or Plaintiff Profile Forms. Tracking cases referred to co-counsel. Answer client questions relating to their case. Manage client files in an organized and accessible manner. Communicate with clients by phone/email/letter. Obtain medical records/claim documentation. Review and analyze medical records (previous medical record experience not required). Fill out forms, draft legal documents and other miscellaneous duties. Complete mail-merge correspondence to clients in different case inventories. Arrange for filings in various state and federal courts, not only in California, but nationally as permissible. Much time will be spent on streamlining our client management system, updating information with clients, contacting medical facilities, searching through medical records for pertinent information, performing intakes and qualifying/disqualifying leads based on criteria provided, etc. Should have 4 to 5 years working in mass torts. Computer skills including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook. Experience with database software helpful. Experience reviewing medical records or knowledge of medical terminology helpful but not necessary. College education preferred.
