Legal Secretary / Assistant - Labor and Employment The candidate will proactively maintain workload and caseload; anticipate next steps and implement follow-up procedures. Maintain calendars of meetings and business trips. Coordinate client/attorney/administrative conferences, meetings, and appointments for timekeepers and clients. Coordinate travel arrangements. Attend marketing events and follow up with clients and prospective clients. Create, edit, revise, redline, and/or proofread documents. Prepare, edit and file paper and electronic documents with appropriate courts and agencies and ensure proper procedures are followed and deadlines are met. Process and route incoming mail and electronic communications. Coordinate client and matter onboarding, such as conflicts checks, new client/matter intake forms and engagement letters and audit responses. Maintain electronic and paper files. Assist with reviewing daily docket and coordinating with attorneys and paralegals on upcoming dates and deadlines for client projects and legal filings. Assist with special projects and cooperate as a team member with co-workers. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should have excellent customer service skills. Must have ability to work as a team member and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel. Should have ability to multi-task. Must have ability to think creatively and approach projects and tasks from a continuous-improvement perspective. Should have strong knowledge of main Microsoft Office products, in particular Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge of Excel is a plus. Must have strong attention to detail, proofreading and organizational skills. Should have accurate typing skills of 50-70 wpm.
