Litigation Personal Injury Paralegal The candidate must be capable of handling all aspects of the litigation process from intake through trial preparation. Perform intake screening for potential new clients. Set up insurance claims, draft initial letters of representation, send open records requests. Professionally interact with clients, adjusters, physicians' staff, opposing counsel, and court personnel. Communicate with clients regarding medical treatment, case status, settlement. Request medical records and follow-up on requests. Draft demand letters. Assist attorneys in negotiating settlement of cases with insurance adjusters. Schedule doctor meetings, draft medical narratives and future care summaries; Draft pleadings, discovery, motions. Prepare discovery responses. File pleadings, discovery, motions, etc. (including e-filing). Schedule opposing party and doctor depositions. Trial Preparation. Prepare settlement distribution agreements, negotiate provider balances, and conduct lien searches. Manage health insurance subrogation process, including requesting and analyzing health plan documents. Should have Two or four year college degree, paralegal college program preferred. Must have 3 years personal injury litigation experience. Ability to take direction from multiple staff members is required. Should be proficient in Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Must have experience with the litigation process. Case management software experience, preferably Needles are required.
