Legal Assistant / Paralegal Duties: Specializing in medical malpractice and product liability litigation for plaintiffs. Responsibilities include assisting with all stages of litigation to include indexing of case documents, creation and maintenance of case calendars, drafting correspondence and memos, scheduling depositions, scheduling travel for attorneys, communication with clients and opposing counsel, case intake interviews, researching, assisting with discovery responses and drafting of other pleadings. Candidate must have strong attention to detail, good written, computer and communication skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. All applicants must exhibit knowledge of all stages of litigation from client intake to settlements. Must have the flexibility to work overtime when needed and express interest and ownership of the position. Expertise in Word, Excel, and Outlook is mandatory. Relevant work experience helpful and a background in science or medicine is also a plus. Knowledge of TrialWorks, Westlaw, CaseFile Express and CaseMap / Concordance is desirable. Entry level or recent grad will be considered as well.
