Attorney - Personal Injury Responsibilities: Meet with and provide legal counsel and advice to clients on issues relating to civil litigation matters, including, Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Claims. Conduct legal research for the purposes of case evaluation, preparation of pleadings, discovery demands and discovery responses, motions, as well as arbitrations and mediations submissions. Appear for and conduct court conferences and depositions. Enter all notes into a computer-based case management system for any work performed/time spent on the case. Periodically update assigned clients. Requirements: Admission to the New York State Bar. Should have some experience in handling construction accident claims, Labor Law 200, 240 and 241, as well as motor vehicle and general negligence claims. Working knowledge of the CPLR, personal injury laws and personal injury medicine. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Strong technology skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office software and legal research platforms such as Lexis and Westlaw. Creativity. Innovative-thought. Perform extensive legal research and writing skills.
