Corporate Paralegal Duties: Performs billable paralegal duties under the general direction and supervision of one or more attorneys. Assist attorneys with all aspects of litigation, business transaction, and estate planning including preparation and/or coordination of pleadings, exhibits, investigations, discovery deadlines, maintaining the case-management database and preparing attorneys for depositions, hearings and trials. Additional litigation duties include drafting complaints and answers, routine notices, affidavits, motions and petitions. Additional Business Transaction duties include review of documents on e-discovery platforms, research and filings with the USPTO, corporate governance and record keeping, assistance with mergers & acquisitions, and real estate transactions. Additional Estate Planning duties include preparation of Living Trusts, Wills, Litigation of Probate Matters, preparation of Estate Taxes, and other duties as requested. Familiarity with tax law preferred. Qualifications: College degree or paralegal certificate preferred. 5-7 years law firm experience as a paralegal. Will be well organized and have excellent time management skills, including the ability to independently organize and prioritize numerous tasks, complete them under time constraints and ensure deadlines are met. The ability to work in a calm and effective manner in high-stress situations and the ability to accept criticism with a positive attitude is critical to this role. The Litigation Paralegal/Case Manager must be able to take on new responsibilities with minimal supervision, take the initiative in assigned projects, and plan for future projects based on previous experience.
