This mid size Orlando office maintains a full service civil law practice. The is organized into the following areas: litigation, health law, communications and media, employment and labor, tax, personal planning and employee benefits, securities and public offering, real estate, and business and corporate office. Legal Secretary - Bankruptcy The candidate will compose and type routine correspondence for review. Schedule appointments and maintain attorneys calendar. File all necessary documents with courts (e-filing). Docket all necessary dates for deadlines. Maintain pleading indexes for all litigation matters. Maintain Attorneys client contact information. Assist with opening and closing of client matters. Assist with billing/edits. Enter attorneys time into time entry system. Draft, revise, edit and proofread documents. Establish and maintain hard copy and digital files for client matters. Assist with travel arrangements. Assist with lunch and dinner reservations. Reserve conference rooms and arrange meetings. Enter expenses into expense system. Request checks for various vendors. Assist with keeping records of all required CLE hours. Maintain client/matter list. Prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, subpoena duces tecum, summons and service of process, petitions, schedules and statement of affairs for review, approval and use by attorney. Maintain mailing matrix list of service parties. Update the list when Notices of Appearances and requests for Notices are filed. Assist with the preparation of fee applications. Assist with preparing plan of reorganization and disclosure statements in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy case. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Should have High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1-3 years of related experience. Professional services experience highly desirable with a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Access and other database applications is required.
