Paralegal Litigation Pro Bono Paralegal The candidate will support local litigation department and assist clients nationally. Will work particularly on penalty litigation, prison litigation, indigent defense cases and other trial and appellate work in the New York office. Preparing for depositions and trials; drafting, formatting, proofreading and filing a variety of legal correspondence, briefs, motions, and pleadings; document organization and filing maintenance. Work include both legal and documentary research, investigation, and general case management. Should have Bachelor s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate or equivalent work experience. 1+ years of Paralegal experience is desired. General knowledge of legal proceedings is essential. General knowledge of rules and procedures in Federal and State Courts (predominantly in NY) is essential. Proficient knowledge in litigation database platforms such as Concordance and Summation is essential. Superior technological and computer capabilities (specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel) is essential. Illustrates excellent communication, proofreading, grammar, and organizational skills is essential.
