Immigration Attorney The candidate will be representing individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Courts. Appearing with individuals before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for family-based matters, as well as for adjustment of status and naturalization. Preparing filings before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, including but not limited to Waivers, VAWA applications, and U Visa petitions. Preparing asylum applications and appearing with individuals at the Asylum Office for asylum interviews. Preparing filings before the Department of Labor in PERM matters, as well as preparing employment-based visa applications. Handling client meetings. Drafting briefs, motions, affidavits, letters, responses to requests for evidence/notices of intent to deny. Meeting deadlines. The candidate must have a J.D. degree. Virginia Bar licensure is strongly preferred. Must have 1+ years of experience working as an immigration attorney in the following areas: removal defense, family-based immigration, naturalization, asylum, waivers, vawa/u visas and/or employment-based immigration. Spanish language fluency is strongly preferred. Should have strong writing, oral advocacy, and research skills. Must be very organized, professional, proactive and a team player. Must have strong multi-tasking skills. Must be willing and eager to obtain and secure new clients.
