Litigation Paralegal Duties: The candidate will process incoming litigation emails and regular litigation mail, which includes saving documents to the server, updating client status logs, and distributing them to appropriate persons (this will sometimes require calculating and calendaring deadlines). Prepare Notices of Service of Records and Affidavits, file with the court, and serve medical records/bills on opposing counsel. Schedule/coordinate depositions, mediations, meetings, hearings, etc., and calendaring appropriately. Prepare Notices of Deposition and Mediation Information Sheets. Occasionally draft motions and subpoenas related to depositions. Prepare correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and mediators. Receive client s deposition transcript, calendar due date for changes; send to client & follow up for receipt; return to a reporter if changes are made. Handle communications (phone and electronic) with clients, attorneys, mediators, court reporters, and videographers pertaining to depositions and mediations. Handle travel accommodations (hotel/conf room, etc.) as needed. Administrative duties include (but are not limited to): making copies, scanning documents, opening mail, filing, and various other duties. Perform other jobs as assigned/needed. Qualifications: The candidate should preferably have 5 years of experience in personal injury litigation. Must have familiarity with the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure. Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Proficient with electronic case filings. Ability to prioritize and sometimes work under pressure. Self-starter; willing to take initiative. Strong verbal communication/proficiency in English (bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred. Interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and be a team player. Excellent attention to detail. Responsible and organized.
