Paralegal The candidate processes new cases and prepares initial synopsis of workers compensation claims. Prepares and analyzes medical chronologies. Performs complex wage/hour calculations. Subpoenas medical records. Coordinates conference calls with medical providers and adjusters. Drafts motions for attorney review. Prepares documents for production. Calendar/docket hearings, pre-trial agreements, discovery, and other deadlines. Determines when independent medical reviews are necessary and schedules accordingly. Evaluates ongoing medical records; reviews cases for settlement or trial. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Knowledge of TimeMatters or similar software required. Should have 3-5 years of experience in a professional setting. Should preferably have experience performing complex wage/hour calculations and will have extensive experience with various types of databases, case management systems, and software. Must have paralegal experience in fields that require preparation and analysis of medical chronologies, and be able to efficiently manage a large volume caseload under the pressure of competing deadlines. Direct workers compensation experience is preferred; however, will consider personal injury experience.
