Labor & Employment Paralegal The candidate will provide Labor & Employment attorneys with a full range of litigation support (including class actions, single and multiple plaintiff cases, agency hearings, mediations, arbitrations) and transactional paralegal support. Locate and interview witnesses; gather documents and evidence; create timelines and chronologies of facts; create and maintain case information lists for parties, witnesses and other stakeholders. Draft answers, declarations; prepare exhibits; assist with court filings. Draft interrogatories, requests for production of documents, requests for admissions and responses to same. Prepare, serve, respond to and manage subpoenas and related documents. Respond to employee letters, include gathering file, redacting information. Respond to agency complaints. Function as key support on discovery issues, including collecting, maintaining and preserving client documents; managing, uploading and processing documents in databases; creating searches in databases; reviewing and coding documents for privilege or responsiveness to issues or document requests; and redacting documents. Assist with labor and other negotiations, including gathering and keeping track of negotiation proposals. Provide transactional support, including assisting with review, revision and/or creation of policies for handbooks. Assist with trial support, including creating demonstratives for trial; preparing and liaising with witnesses; preparing and managing witness and exhibit lists; attending trial to assist with jury selection; manage exhibits; assist with witnesses; manage Trial Director and take notes; and coordinating all aspects of trial logistics. Manage deadlines and calendars; attend meetings to take notes, prepare task lists and attend to post-meeting action items; and assume additional responsibilities, as needed. Bill 1500 hours per year, with the expectation that overtime may be needed on occasion. Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college/university is required. Should have 8-10 years of relevant experience. Class action experience is required. Paralegal Certificate from ABA-approved paralegal program is required.
