Legal Secretary, Litigation Service Center Duties: Support to a dynamic group of litigation attorneys and other timekeepers. Work under the mentorship of the lead Legal Secretary and have daily interaction with other lawyers and staff members within the firm, too. Will be asked to prepare, format, edit and proofread legal documents and general correspondence. Will prepare and file legal documents in a variety of courts, working hand-in-hand with the Calendar team to ensure court procedures are followed and deadlines are met. Will schedule court reporters for depositions; prepare litigation, deposition and trial binders; and may even travel to trial sites when needed. Will liaise with our Travel Department to make national and international travel arrangements for attorneys. Will complete and submit travel expense reports, check requests and other financial forms. Will enter attorney time in the time management program on a timely basis. Will utilize the services of the Document Processing Department, Copy Center and Administrative Resource Center as needed. Will plan attorney meetings including outlook scheduling, reserving conference rooms, arranging video and teleconferencing support. Will maintain and update client contact information and client lists in firm software programs. Will assist other secretaries, attorneys and departments with administrative tasks as needed; and cover secretarial absences when necessary. Will perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Qualifications: 3+ years of active litigation legal secretarial experience in a law firm. Advanced computer skills including .pdf technology, CD creation, and Microsoft Suite. Knowledge of litigation terminology and familiarity with current court rules and procedures. Keen eye for detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills. Flexibility and ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Can-do and enthusiastic approach to client service, and success working in a team environment. Availability for overtime as needed.
