Legal Secretary Duties: Responsible for scheduling appointments, typing attorney pleadings and correspondence, scheduling court appearances, checking service of complaint, and must have the ability to juggle priorities. Follow practices and processes that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company standards, and serve the needs of our clients. This includes a commitment to a process of continuous improvement. Comply with company policies and procedures, including but not limited to, the company s attendance policy. Perform general secretary duties (dictation, correspondence, handling of mail). Prepare guardianship paperwork, scheduling court hearings for minor s files. Proofreading and make grammatical and spelling corrections on legal forms. Schedule client calls. Prepare correspondence in support of the work of Legal Assistants (loss of consortium and other form letters). Back up clerical support for assistants (mail, copying, faxes). Perform other duties within the employee s training and skills as directed by Core Leader.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Display true passion for client and community service. 2 years' experience in legal office work. Demonstrated ability to work and communicate professionally, verbally and in written form with clients. Ability to work independently without regular direct supervision.
