Litigation Paralegal Duties: assisting with all aspects of the discovery and litigation process; investigating facts; working with clients and litigation support to collect client documents, data and ESI; analyzing facts and data; propounding and responding to discovery; working with expert witnesses; preparing subpoenas and documents for filing in both Federal and State courts; conducting legal research and cite-checking briefs; reviewing, redacting and preparing documents for production; maintaining and organizing documents; and preparing calendar deadlines and assisting with all aspects of pre-trial and trial preparation. Assists in organizing electronic information and updates, including Smartsheets (or similar technology), for portfolio clients. Assists in data collection, analysis and project management for class and collective actions. Organizes and indexes case files and documents produced. Determines pre-trial and trial calendars deadlines. Performs a wide variety of legal research and data compilation, with little or no supervision. Assists with preparation of pleadings to be filed with the Court. Prepares materials in support of dispositive motions. Drafts a wide variety of legal documents. Reviews documents on document database and prepares for production along with a privilege log when necessary. Prepares and attends meetings, mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and trials. Communicates with witnesses and clients. Assists with scheduling. Enters billing and expense data into Firm system in a timely manner. Coordinates major projects or cases, some of which may involve the work of multiple paralegals. Qualifications: must have 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably working in a labor/employment practice. ABA-approved Paralegal certificate or degree from accredited college or university. Experience in preparing attorneys for/at trials, arbitrations and mediations with little or no supervision. Experience with preparing third-party subpoenas (including calculation of all deadlines). Experience with trial preparation software, including Trial Director, LiveNote, CaseMap is preferred. Experience with managing portfolio clients as well as class/collective actions is preferred. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Lexis-Nexis, WestLaw, Relativity, Docketing, Smartsheet or similar technology, Document Management System, expense and billing systems is preferred. Advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred.
