Paralegal/Litigation Assistant The candidate will be responsible to primarily assist and support partner in various aspects of litigation. Organize and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing system, including but not limited to correspondence, pleadings, discovery, etc. Prepare for trial and depositions by performing tasks such as organizing exhibits. Prepare, organize and manage documents produced during discovery. Interact with clients and other professionals regarding cases and scheduling. File pleadings with court clerk and/or electronic filing system in multiple jurisdictions. Review and respond to partner emails and update partner on client needs. The candidate must have 2 to 3 years as a litigation paralegal/legal assistant. 4 years college degree is required with familiarity with litigation rules and procedures in Maryland and/or the District of Columbia. Must be able to multi-task with ability to prioritize tasks and transition easily between assignments and duties as necessary. Must have excellent judgment and knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures in litigation environment, as well as systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology. Must be organized, self-starter, Comfortable in fast-paced environment and interested in people and sensitive to their needs. Should be hardworking and interested in succeeding and excelling.
