Litigation Paralegal The candidate Should have 3 years of civil litigation experience. The essential functions include: Preparing and processing legal documents and papers, such as summons, subpoenas, complaints, appeals, motions, and pretrial agreements; Mailing, faxing, or arranging for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses, and court officials; Receiving and placing telephone calls; scheduling and making appointments; Assisting with office administrative duties by making photocopies of correspondences, documents, and other printed matters; Organizing and maintaining documents, and case files; Assisting attorneys in collecting information relevant to caseloads; Drafting and typing office memos, letters and other correspondence;l Trial preparation with notebooks, binders and exhibits; Propound and respond to discovery; Reviewing legal publications and performing database searches to identify laws and court decisions relevant to pending cases. Performing other work-related duties as assigned. Bachelors Degree or Paralegal Certificate required. Must have Knowledge of legal terminology and legal document management (e.g., briefs, summonses, complaints, motions, pleadings and discovery). Should have Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political processes. Knowledge of federal and state court rules and e-filing procedures is required. Familiarity with litigation management software systems preferred. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services is required.
