Associate Attorney (employment Law) The candidate should have 1-2 years experience in litigation, with a demonstrated interest in Labor and Employment. Our practice is mainly employment class actions (involving wage/hour violations, meal periods and rest break violations, failure to pay wages and overtime, failure to reimburse for expenses, failure to timely pay final wages and wage statement violations, as well as violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. A small portion of practice also includes wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment, sexual harassment, and wrongful termination in violation of public policy. Should have Labor and Employment experience with a demonstrated interest in Plaintiffs practice. Junior associates will be assigned to a team and will be involved in all aspects of the each case from inception (e.g., initial intake, preparing case memos, determining viable claims to pursue, and drafting the initial complaint). Junior associates are also expected to handle the day-to-day case work with the direction of the lead attorney such as preparing case management statements, draft stipulations, meet and confer with opposing counsel regarding discovery responses. From time to time, you will also have opportunities to attend court appearances, and depositions. Mid-level and more experienced attorneys will have experience in drafting class certification motions, motions for summary judgment/adjudication, drafting writ petitions, defending and taking depositions, negotiating settlement agreements, among other duties.
