Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities: Legal research, preparing correspondence, revising / proof reading documents, document review, preparing electronic and in person court filings, maintaining the litigation calendar using the Civil Practice Law and Rules and Federal Civil Judicial Procedure and Rules, and writing weekly legal blogs. Will be trained to use Westlaw, eDiscovery, court filing websites, and Sage Timeslips. Will litigation, transactional, and administrative responsibilities, as well as back up of other staff members (including telephones). Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence and related legal documents; calendar litigation deadlines and events; manage calendar and scheduling; redact and Bates number documents for production (using Adobe Acrobat); e-filing. Extensive word processing, redlining, proofreading, and formatting various reports, contracts and other legal documents. Organize, scan and copy legal and non-legal documents. Transcribe and create legal and non-legal documents from recordings and dictation media. Conduct client intake, including engaging client and requesting, gathering and reviewing client documents. Prepare/finalize reports and exhibits. Various other administrative and support duties. Qualifications: Must also answer phones, correspond with court clerks, greet and correspond with clients, deal with vendors, and other administrative duties. Must have strong communication and organizational skills and be able to use Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and social media accounts (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram). Familiarity with WordPress is a plus. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills. Must have excellent research skills. State and federal court filing experience, including e-filing (will train). Expertise with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and social media accounts.
