Paralegal The candidate researches law, investigates facts, and independently prepares documents to assist attorneys. Summarizes complex legal documents. Creates and maintains effective working relationships with others to facilitate a positive and productive work environment. Performs wide variety of legal research and data compilation. Files pleadings with court. Prepares reports and correspondence. Drafts legal documents under attorney supervision, including written discovery, subpoenas and notices of deposition. Prepares for mediations and trials. Communicates with witnesses and experts. Enters billing into Firms system in a timely manner. The candidate must have Paralegal certification, college degree from accredited college or university or 3+ years of appropriate paralegal experience. Should have 3+ years of paralegal experienced, preferably working in complex litigation practice. Must have in-depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Should have working knowledge of Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and other on-line legal research resources. Must have working knowledge of NetDocuments or similar Document Management System and billing systems.
