Legal Secretary - Immigration The candidate will proactively maintain workload and caseload; anticipate next steps and implement follow-up procedures. Create, edit, revise, redline, and/or proofread documents. Process and route incoming mail and electronic communications. Coordinate client and matter onboarding, such as conflicts checks, new client/matter intake forms and engagement letters and audit responses. Maintain electronic and paper files. Assist with reviewing daily docket and coordinating with attorneys and paralegals on upcoming dates and deadlines for client projects and legal filings. Copy and scan immigration petitions for filing with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS") and other government agencies. Prepare shipping labels, track packages to ensure delivery and resolve delivery exception issues. Maintain calendars for attorneys and paralegals. Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare expense reports. Assist with time entries and billing process. Assist attorneys and paralegals with research projects and reports. Should have High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Should have 2 years of experience as a legal secretary. Strong knowledge of main Microsoft Office products, in particular Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.Knowledge of Excel is a plus. Strong attention to detail, proofreading and organizational skills. Knowledge of litigation and trial procedures, including ECF and Odyssey (federal and state) electronic court filing programs. Prior experience in immigration and immigration software preferred.
