Federal Litigation Paralegal The candidate participates as a team member and assists attorneys in various litigation matters by playing a key role in the work required to support the firm's clients. This hands-on position provides support as an integral part of strategizing case file and process management through all stages of litigation. Manages and utilizes automated litigation support tools. Prepares for depositions, hearings and trials. Compiles, reviews and analyzes documents as required by attorneys specific to case issues and determines necessary information. Performs research (factual, legal, internet, and other) to identify issues and relevant matters; prepare compilation of findings. Drafts simple motions and notices to be filed at attorney's direction. Assists with preparation of court filings including, but not limited to, cite and fact checking legal briefs and assembling of exhibits and appendices. Understands mechanics of e-filing and e-files with courts and agencies. Communicates, corresponds and interacts with clients and outside entities, such as, government entities, expert witnesses, vendors, corporations and other law firms to gather information or data. Serves as factual resource on cases and demonstrates knowledge of case documents The candidate should have experience in drafting and answering discovery requests for all civil litigation matters. 1-2 years of litigation paralegal experience preferred. The candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the CM/ECF filing system used in federal court and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure or possess the ability and drive to be up and running quickly. Must have significant collaboration with lawyers and paralegals and requires excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
