Paralegal - Real Estate The candidate assists with drafting, reviewing, editing, and managing all types of documents for the acquisition of residential and commercial properties. Experience with coordinating closings, loan packages, signings, and approvals is required with tracking calendars and deadlines. This is a role that requires accuracy, efficiency, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. It requires an individual who readily adapts to changing priorities and business needs while being proactive in identifying areas of need and demonstrating agility to execute action plans. This role is anticipated to grow in complexity and variety with time and experience in position. Maintains superior relations with clients, bankers, brokers, lenders and other parties. Perform functions of pre-closer and post-closer paralegal, as necessary. Uses internet to research real estate related topics. Ensures proper form execution and acknowledgement of real estate documents. Researches websites of Clerk of Court and Property Appraiser's Office. Orders and analyzes title examinations, reviews exceptions to titles, and prepares necessary documents to correct or clear title. Orders and analyzes surveys; reviews legal descriptions. Prepares all documents for real estate closings, including closing statements, trust accounts, deeds, bills of sale, lease assignments, estoppel certificates, indemnification agreements, mortgage releases, UCC financing statements, title affidavits, lien waivers, and letters and performs all related functions necessary to close a real estate transaction, subject to attorney review and approval. Gathers information necessary to create the real estate documents. Keeps real estate closing files organized. This includes tacking down loose documents, ensuring copies of all relevant documents are included and all contact information for buyer/seller, lender, and broker are easily accessible. Coordinates closing logistics; prepares closing checklists; oversees execution of documents and recordation of appropriate documents; organizes complex transactional files. Assures payment of all charges applicable to the closing, and disburses funds as directed by the supervising attorney. Meets required number of real estate closings set by the section. Keeps accurate time records. The candidate with Bachelor's degree in legal studies or business-related field preferred. Certifications. NALA Certified Paralegal or Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) required. Experience. Minimum five years of corporate and residential real estate experience, preferably in a mid-size firm; with substantive familiarity with title and survey.
