Government Contracts Legal Secretary The candidate will support 3 government contracts attorneys. Will coordinate group projects among attorneys. Act as liaison to marketing, business development and administrative staff. Research companies that sell products and services to the US government, including use of government contracts databases. Prepare word processing work including briefs and pleadings. Proofread all work, including reading documents for content and context. Maintain case files and pleadings indexes. Maintain calendar of critical case deadlines. Schedule meetings and conference rooms. Coordinate meals/refreshments for meetings. Assist attorneys with client billing process. Make travel arrangements, including transportation, automobile rentals and hotel reservations. Answer and screen routine telephone calls per attorney instructions. Provide backup telephone coverage as needed. Open mail, sort, stamp, and organize. File correspondence and legal documents according to the office filing system, including scanning to SharePoint sites; coordinating with Records department. Perform other duties required based upon the practice of attorneys, such as, administrative work, practice development initiatives, and committee projects and responsibilities. Assist with special projects as needed. College degree is preferred. Must have 3-5 years of related experience in a mid-large sized law firm or government contractor. Should be proficient in the use of MS Outlook, Word and Excel. Must competently operate office equipment including computer, scanner, copier, and telephone system.
