Try Premium for free About the job We are a midsize law firm in New York City actively seeking an energetic and experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join our real estate department. The Real Estate Paralegal will work closely with the firm's real estate attorneys on legal matters pertaining to real estate. We encourage our paralegals to work independently and in coordination with our attorney and we strive to provide a varied and interesting array of matters. Responsibilities include: Assist in drafting, summarizing, managing and organizing documents related to real estate transactions Review leases and other legal documents and confer with firm attorneys. Handle title and survey review, including the preparation of title and survey summaries in connection with residential and commercial real estate closings. Coordinate ordering title and UCC searches and prepare summaries of search results Manage and coordinate closings, including preparing closing statements, filing ACRIS documents and addressing post-closing matters, including preparation of closing CDs. Perform limited legal research and various non-legal research using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis. Ensure that files are maintained within Firm-approved protocols and case management systems. Qualifications For Real Estate Paralegal Bachelor's Degree 5+ years of related real estate experience in a law firm Possess solid interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team environment, as well as independently Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems Strong proficiency in title and survey review Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational and planning skills Demonstrates accountability and takes ownership of projects Ability to work well in an environment that values quality of work product, professionalism and responsiveness.
