Paralegal Duties: Appropriately present and represent the firm to both current and potential clients. Perform client phone intakes and screen potential clients. Create and manage electronic case files. Schedule appointments on the appropriate office calendar(s). Prepare and assemble several types of estate planning documents. Appropriately revise prepared documents as directed. Openly and courteously communicate with other paralegals and attorneys. Assist with the answering of incoming calls as needed. Prioritize and manage your own assignments with various deadlines. Requirements: BA or BS degree with a paralegal certificate or a paralegal degree. Must type at 40+ wpm. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to handle diverse assignments while prioritizing deadlines. Must be comfortable with others reviewing your work. Must handle critiques well. Must be familiar with multi-line telephones and have good phone etiquette. Must be willing to assist and collaborate with fellow paralegals. Preferred Requirements: Familiar with several types of financial documents, including: annuities, IRAs, 401(k)s, life insurance policies, etc. Familiar with estate planning legal terms. Previous experience in a law office. Previous experience with: probate, social security disability, trust administration, trust preparation, or deed preparation.
