Paralegal/Legal Assistant - Affidavit The candidate' will b responsible for multiple clients and states to review accounts, create approved form templates and submit those templates to the client per the work standards for review and signature. Will also be tasked with following up on any unreceived affidavits as well as working with attorneys and internal teams to create new affidavit templates for client approval when needed. In this role you will be exposed to legal filings in multiple states and its supporting documentation. Time management is key in this job role to complete tasks efficiently and effectively. Job Summary: Review accounts and court dockets to determine current case status and appropriate next actions pursuant to the Illinois Rules of Civil Procedure. Prepare necessary pleadings for attorney review and e-file with the Illinois E-portal as well as adhere to applicable judicial requirements for submission of proposed orders. Receive and calendar all notices/orders setting matters for case management and ensure the appearance is assigned to an attorney as well as prepare the files for their appearance. Task actions to responsible individuals as needed to comply with court directives prior to case management and follow up to ensure timely completion of those actions. Assist in other aspects of the litigation process as needed (i.e. settlement, discovery, trial prep, and scheduling). Skills/Knowledge/Education: At least 2 years of experience in civil litigation and drafting of pleadings. Knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure Minimum: High School Diploma; Paralegal Certificate (preferred).
