Immigration Assistant/Paralegal I The candidate will be responsible for providing general support to the legal teams through a variety of tasks and activities. Should learn immigration process by assisting in the preparation of documents and applications and engaging in frequent customer/client contact. Must project a professional image on behalf the firm through in-person and phone interaction. Will work with clients to obtain documents and information necessary to prepare applications for multiple cases at a time. Draft support statements and organizes documentation for filling. Files and monitors applications and petitions with appropriate government agencies. Collaborate with manager and the legal team to facilitate cases and meet monthly filing goals. Performs research to obtain information such as background on a company or industry, current wages, processing procedures, stand processing times, etc. Demonstrate increasing levels of company's service standards, procedures and documentation required for successful case filings to the appropriate government agency. Coordinate with clients to gather required information. Prepare letters and other documents on behalf of the employer and/or client. Finalize documents after review by Practice Manager, Team Manager and/or Attorney. Provide information and assistance to clients regarding legal procedures. Update database(s) and utilize case preparation/management tools effectively and efficiently. Run reports to assist in managing own caseload. Ensure all deadlines are met. General office and support duties including photocopies, faxes and document scanning. Retrieve and/or return files. Qualifications : The candidate should possess an Associates degree or Paralegal Certificate. Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in English, Journalism, Communication, etc., a plus Should be able to learn and effectively implement new processes quickly. Have superb organizational skills. Should have ability to follow instructions and action independently. Have to manage heavy case-load and work within strict timelines. Have English language skills, both spoken and written. Must have prior immigration or legal experience with a high case-load, a plus. Preferably have experience working in an office setting.
