This large international New York law firm founded in 1934 has established a full-service presence. Clients include large corporations and individuals as well as small and medium-sized businesses. Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal The candidate organizes and indexes documents and maintains document collections in databases; coordinates all aspects of document productions; performs basic legal and non-legal research using the Internet, Lexis, Westlaw and practice specific databases; drafts cover letters and other documents; Bluebooks, cite checks, proofreads and edits documents; compiles deposition/trial exhibits and exhibit lists; assists with trial preparations and in the courtroom. Organize, index and compile documents in formats useful for case management; maintain document collections and productions in databases; assist attorneys in initial review of documents for responsiveness and privilege status; coordinate all aspects of document productions (protective order or confidential information designations, submission/service via electronic media, etc.); maintain or oversee maintenance of case management tools. Perform basic legal and non-legal research on the Internet, Lexis, Westlaw and practice specific databases; confirm court rules and filing requirements; travel to and/or call courts, agencies and similar organizations to obtain information; assist in drafting discovery documents and responses (interrogatories, request for admission, request for production); draft letters, subpoenas, case summaries/chronologies and other documents for attorney review; Bluebook, Shepardize, cite check, proofread and edit documents; assist with deposition scheduling and prepare deposition exhibits and witness files. Assist with trial preparations and at trial; assist with preparation of pre-trial filings; may assist with case calendar; may set up work spaces for trial, locally or remotely (arrange for vendors, equipment, telephones, supplies, etc.); maintain trial exhibits and update exhibit list as exhibits during trial; assist with documents being filed before, during and after trial. May supervise or provide direction to Project Assistants or temporary staff; must be flexible to travel, work overtime and to assist other practice groups when needed; must be able to work under pressure and handle stress. Should have Bachelor's Degree. Must have Paralegal Certificate or equivalent work experience. Should have 3 years experience; strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must have proficiency with Firm-standard and litigation support software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Pro, CaseNotebook, Relativity, eRooms, CaseMap, Sharepoint, Westlaw, BriefCheck/ WestCheck, or similar software introduced from time to time).
