Associate Attorney Duties: Talk to people in a manner that is polite, educated, and puts them at ease. Dealing with clients. Will also need to know how to figure things out on own and be able to creatively problem solve and come up with workable solutions. Will be working under the guidance of law firm's senior associate. Will be interviewing clients and preparing them for their defense. Will be conducting evidentiary hearings at the state office of administrative hearings and participating in informal settlement conferences/meetings. Will be preparing motions, written discovery and participating in depositions in preparation for evidentiary hearings before the administrative law judge. Will be negotiating with staff attorneys and/or agency investigators. Will be assisting clients with preparing written packets in response to licensing complaint letters. Will be keeping clients heavily informed about the progress of their case. Qualifications: Must be licensed in the State of Texas for 3+ years and practicing professional license defense law. Candidates with solid litigation experience will also be seriously considered. 3-5 years experience to work in downtown Austin office to assist us with Professional License Defense Law practice (i.e., Administrative Law). Must be a positive person and a team player. Must be able to multi-task and handle a good amount of client case files. Must be able to think on yfeet and make smart decisions. Also need to be detail-oriented and willing to go the extra mile to get the job done right the first time. Must have a thick skin, which means you cannot be an attorney who does not take criticism well or cannot deal well with people.
