Paralegal - Aviation The candidate will prepare legal documents such as Security Instrument Releases, Lease Terminations, FAA Bills of Sale, Aircraft Registration Applications, Statements in Support of Citizenship and other miscellaneous documentation necessary for various aircraft transactions. Examine aircraft, engine and propeller records of the Federal Aviation Administration and prepares title notes showing the chain of ownership and status of encumbrances of aircraft and the status of encumbrances against engines and propellers. Examine Priority Search Certificates issued by the International Registry and compare them with FAA records. Prepare preliminary drafts of closing opinions and correspondence with clients and their counsel. Assist in organizing documents for aircraft transactions and maintaining document files with respect to such transactions. Communicate with clients and the Federal Aviation Administration Aircraft Registry. Direct and coordinate activities of certain employees within practice areas. Perform functions necessary to make web-based registrations on the International Registry of Mobile Assets. Ability to handle multiple transactions and tasks in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year College or University, or an Associate's degree and 2 years of prior experience, or a High school diploma and 5 years of prior experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification as a Legal Assistant is preferred. Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents and property records. Ability to communicate with clients and federal agencies and respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
