Litigation Paralegal The candidate will assist attorneys with client case matter and project management, including drafting and sending engagement and conflict waiver letters, managing document organization of client files in both physical and electronic form, managing/docketing deadlines, and anything else to help the attorneys keep all files at the firm moving forward smoothly. Assist with the preparation, formatting, and proofreading of correspondence, memos, pleadings, research outlines, and agendas. Produce, edit, and format legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, opinions, complaints, orders, and subpoenas; compose routine letters and memoranda. Draft discovery requests, such as requests for production, interrogatories, and requests for admissions. Maintain docketing calendar and tickler system for all deadlines. Assist with trial preparation, prepare trial notebooks, manage exhibits, assist with depositions, and assist with attorney fee petitions. Familiarity with court system and court rules (federal, state, appeals, etc.) and interacting with court clerks. Prepare/maintain pleading logs, discovery logs, trial notebooks, closing binders, and entity binders. Complete basic clerical tasks, including data entry; photocopy/scan/fax; organize firm library books. Assist any department as set forth by direct supervisor. Other duties as assigned and accept special tasks as necessary and assume responsibility for successfully achieving objectives. The candidate should have experience in Default Foreclosure Litigation. Must have strong knowledge of how to pull and review dockets. Must have knowledge of foreclosure industry systems such as Black Knight. Must have experience with a case management system. should have ability to E-File, respond to client emails and other client related communications. Must have ability to run/review county dockets with ability to identify any pending litigation issues. should have ability to work closely with firm staff and follow detailed instructions on a case by case basis. Must have Demonstrated integrity, strong client-relationship skills, the ability to use judgment, tact, discretion, and keep information confidential. Should have computer proficiency to include current software programs, i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
