The San Francisco office of this mid-size firm is engaged primarily in litigation and general business, although the firm boasts a solid regulatory and administrative law practice and a respectable labor/employment practice. The firm has a strong pro bono commitment; associates receive full billable hour credit for approved pro bono work and, overall, pro bono comprises 3-5% of all work. The billable hour target is 1850 and salaries are approximately 20% below market.
Immigration Paralegal Responsibilities: Prepare, draft, and file petitions/applications for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status. Assist with privileged and/or confidential documents for clients. Assist with research and maintain files. Other responsibilities as client needs dictate.
Qualifications: Bachelor s degree and paralegal certificate or appropriate job-related experience required. 3-5 years of employment-based immigration experience. Experience preparing H-1B, TN, L-1, I-140, labor certification and adjustment of status cases. Knowledge of LawLogix, a plus. Excellent, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills. Exceptional drafting, proof-reading and communication skills. Advanced knowledge of electronic legal research tools. Ability to work independently, plan and take initiative to accomplish objectives in a timely manner with minimum supervision. Must be a team player while effectively and efficiently using firm resources.
